Road Trip 2

Err, well, here we are in Kunnunara, a word that reads almost exactly the same upside down as it does normally. well, probably.
anyways, here we are, in Western Australia for the first time.

Me and si have split up and I'm now travelling with a guy called Reggie, one half of the infamous Reggie and Scotty, that we met on Fraser island.

We are having a blast and have had quite a road trip so far. we made it to Darwin form Townsville (2600 k's) in 2.5 days. When we got there we were knackered, but reggies army mate decided that ew were going out 20 mins after we arrived, so not having eaten and thoroughly knackered, we got a lift to the army base where he is an intern. i had to get smuggled in as i didnt have any ID on me, so i got in by using the age old trick of hiding in the boot.

on the way out of the base, i had to hide under the back seat of the taxi minibus that took us into town. Fortunately, aussie security is as good as their rugby back line, and i was able to escape un-shot, un-deported and undetected. marvellous. Before the drinking had commenced, the army guys split into two factions over christ knows what and started an inter-departmental fist fight in the middle of the street. this was to set the tone for the evening. we then proceeded to get thouroghly drunk and dance around like benders, well, the army guys did as they were all on MDNA.

If any country wants to invade australia, all they would have to do would be to hide in the boot of a delivery of Pajero's on a friday night armed with lava lamps and hugs and the bloodless takeover would be accomplished no worries, mate.too easy....

Actually, im writing this in Broome. Since we left darwin we have left NT and headed into WA, via Lichfield national park (stunning) and The Kimberlies (unbelievably stunning!). It has been jaw droppingly beutifull, just amazing. we have been on the Gibb River road (700Km gravel road "shortcut" through the Kimberlies) for the past week, and so are a little dusty and tired, but here we are in broom, relaxing, chilling, finally near a (absolutely stunning) beach you can actually swim on again. Its nice, we are going to chill for 3 or 4 days before continuing on south.

I'll try and pad all this out over the next few days, and get some photos up. for now, i'll leave this summary as it is.
