Hey hey its friday......
After a week of mindnumbing calling, it is finally nearly 5pm on friday. time to hit the pub. (well, after an hour bus ride back to the city, enough time to work up a decent thirst....) time to spend all the money ive earnt this week.....well, i think i deserve it. its 2.5 dollar drinks tonight down at the pavillion, so i can get absolutely battered on about 25 bucks.
ive been keeping to my excersise schedule and i feel good about it, although ive kinda agreed with myself that fridays is a no go for that sort of thing, as is saturday and possibly sunday too.
going to woolongong (or the 'gong as its known) with darren, audrey and chantal tomorrow, as darren rented a car to go to the meatloaf concert yesterday, and he had to take it for a week, so should be cool. going to a place called jamberoo park, which has water slides and toboggans and stuff so that should be a bit of a giggle and also gets us out of the city for a while.
well, time to go now....have a great weekend.

Chocolate Duck
when was the last time you made yourself sick by eating too much chocolate?
its an important question and i think it could tell us a lot about who we are, i havent figured out how or why yet but i may come back to this at some stage. maybe it has something to do with the ration of the ages you were last sick through drinking beer and drinking chocolate.....
anyways, i realised last night as i was laying on the bed groaning that the last time i did that, i was about 10 years old, and i nearly repeated it last night. fortunately, all was ok but it was touch and go there for a minute or two....
Chantal bought me quite a large chcolate duck (fortunately not real size) and a kinder surprise egg, and made some hot chocolate.
well, i ate all of it really quickly as she didnt want any (surprisingly), and then spent the next 30 mins in a cold sweat trying not to think or talk or consider the word chocolate.

Calldesk fun
well, this job is slowly melting my brain. its really mundane and ive ended up trying to play games with the clients to stop the top of my head from collapsing.
for instance, if a cute sounding female receptionist answers, instead of saying
"can i take your address down please" im saying "can i take your dress down please"
and see if they go mental. amazingly, noone has noticed yet. if they do i'll just claim its a bad line.
The other good thing is that when i've got my phone dialer window open, pressing a letter key on the keyboard emits phone tones, im not sure what relationship there is between a letter and the tone produced, but then again im not really worried. so other fun things to do include navigating through the many voice message menu's i come across by typing in rude words and seeing where you end up. also, trying to see if things like "smurfs" sounds anything like the theme tune to the smurfs whilst on hold. which, unfortunately, it doesnt.
other things on the horizon include trying to get away with saying something rude or disguisting really quickly before introducing myself, like
"(bastard) HELLO my name's Kevin, im calling from IBM...."
i havent tried this yet and will wait till nearer the end of my contract in case it gets out of hand / overheard...i may try it out with something safe first, like vegetables for instance.

Made a personal pain chart the day before yesterday so i can record exactly how much it hurts when i do press ups, sit ups, wall-crucifix and swimming, and how many ciggies ive smoked.
So its time to get a bit fit again. 2 days in a row so far, although there is talk of going for a drink after work this afternoon....this could be dangerous...my regime will be shattered.
swimming drunk is not good and i can hardly do 30 laps as it is without gulping down several litres of chlorinated/piss filled water.
however, it is thursday, and one of the guys owes a round so im not sure if im going to be able to help it.
its all getting easier (the exercize and the beer drinking) so that has to be a good sign....

well, call center people have my respect. have been doing it for 3 days now, and my brain hurts....
have been moved off the relatively nice project where all the contacts have names and are already customers and put on to a nasty one where we have no names and the clients can be anyone...these are the people who used to be like me, when a sales guy calls up for no reason out of the blue....hi, do you want to buy a load of new kit....blah blah. i used to hate them. if i wanted to buy new kit, i would call them....i also have to try and ask them why they dont want to buy, what infrastructure they have in place, what their budget is(like anyone is going to tell you...!). most people just arent interested but some get a bit
"well, look mate, i got unexplained traffic on my firewall, my switch is down, my routers fucked.... im real busy go away...."
and thats the nice ones. cant really blame them.
still, theres a girl who sits just over me who has a really nice arse so its not all bad.
