Aaarghhh...
still stuck in sydney. waiting for the xxxxing air con to be fixed.
one good thing that has happened is that we went to the office of fair trading and they said that although there is no warranty with the vehicle, they shouldnt have sold it to us in the the condition it was in, i.e. hole in spare tyre and horn not working as these are road-worthy items, and the car has to be roadworthy for 28 days after they sell it to us. The clutch and the crank shaft seal are going to be difficult to claim for but may give us some leverage. The fair trading people seemed to think we had a good case and were itching to get us to make a complaint as they could send their inspectors around and give them a bollocking, maybe even suspend their license. the only problem with that is that they would probably offer to remedy the tyre and horn but they might stall on doing it. also, they might do something to the car in some way to screw it up. we are now bored of being holed up here and are itching to get on the road, not to mention the masses of cash this is costing. so, we go to see them today and hammer out a deal. we still owe them that 500 dollars. if they swallow that then we are on our way. if they dont, we'll get the O.O.F.T. to screw them.
We have another couple of chicks lined up to come with us and so maybe we will finally get the fuck out of here and get on with the road trip.
ve shall see, ya?
