INSECTS

there are lots of them.
for instance, i was doing my washing at 8 am this morning, and luckily i looked into the washing machine before i chucked all my dirty undies in, and the thing was alive with cockroaches. nice. anway, they soon scarpered upon smelling my undies.

the funny thing about the insects here is that evertime you see one , you think, Wow!
thats the hugest and ugliest looking, smelly, disguisting thing ive ever seen, and then just as you complete these thoughts, soemthing 10 times as ugly and big comes along and either tries to shag it or eat it. its a constant source of amuzement

i ought to thank sarah really, she was the spark that kicked my arse into gear.

Onwards

Upwads

happinesswards.....??

Not Unusual

ive decided that listening to tom jones in the middle of the desert is a bit kitch, but its kinda cool.

where else could you do that??

Flies

i now know why aussies have corks on their hats.
its nothing to do with flies.
its cos they are such a bunch of bloody winos

LIFE

would be alot easier without women.

*BUT*

it would be pointless

no, nothing can save me and sarah now, we had a big "chat" last night, and actually, shes made me realise that i dont have much feelings for her anymore....she certainly doesnt have any for me and hasnt put the past behind her like she said she had, so we were doomed really. to be honest, the only way to sort this out was to meet again. well, at least i tried. wouldve spent the rest of my life wondering what it would have been like otherwise. and so now , here i am, refreshed, back on my feet, eating properly and feeling not to bad at all. i do feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. and heres me in oz, with the world at my feet. onwards and upwards.

crestfallen? certainly.
upset? yes.
pissed off? oooh yeah!
heartbroken? strangely not.
strengthened? i reckon.

i may stay here and get a job. i dont know yet. im going on a tour tomorrow, off to see the rock and the olgas (some other rocks).
got to get up at 4.15 am...will see the sunrise over ayers rock and set over the olga's. should be fairly amazing.

as a testament to how im changing, i was quite drunk last nigt, but still woke up at 7.00 am this morning and proceeded to do my laundry. which isnt normal. im worried.....actually im not, im getting back into the travel thing, meeting people, drinking too much, seeing stuff. and most importantly, not worrying about work.

well, if i dont stay here, i think ill take a tour down to adelaide, stopping at a town called cooper pedy, which has is entirely underground apparantly. then onto melbourne down the " most fmous coast road in the world"...ever! according to the guide book. then back to sydney i guess and then make my way up the east coast and get some sun and check out some chicks in bikinis....

the stars here are the most amazing thing ive ever seen in my life. jewels in the sky.
course i dont recognise any constellations except orion, and mars is fucking huge and way high in the sky. its amazing

well, hello everyone.

before i start, are you all sitting comforatably ?

also , a quick plea on behalf of microsoft and their stingy account limit; as anyone who has experienced a stuffed inbox will know, can i ask you all not to send jokes / pictures etc to me as my hotmail account will fill up and explode quicker than ed reckitts brain when confronted with any number greater than 2.

right, i shall begin.

hope all is well.

well, things havent started off ideally, me n sarah arent getting along amazingly but time may still tell. 14 months is a long time....
ive been so knackered the past couple of days.
left heathrow tuesday evening at 7.30, then got to sydney on thursday morning via osaka and brisbane.
my mate darren picked me up and we immediately went for a couple of pints, or "schooners" as they call them over here, which i thought was quite amuzing as i told them that a schooner is a small boat where i come from so as far as i was concerned if they had enough beer i was up for it.
anyway, two small boats later and i was on the floor, i mean thats enough for any man. so i crashed at at 3.30pm, breaking my golden rule of trying to stay awake the whole day to get in synch ( not the band).
so i woke up at about one am and had to wait for the rest of the world to wake up...this set me up perfectly for friday , as i had to run round sydney and get visa, tax number, health care card, bank account, clothes and still fit in time for a beer....friday night i died at about 8pm, then saturday morning on the plane to alice springs. 3 hours flying, and there was absolutley nothing in sight all the time except for what looked like the surface of mars. unbelievable. got to alice, and stepped out intio 38 degrees. whoosh! thats hot man! checked into a hostel (probably should have been a hospital), and went to sleep. got up, had a beer. had some more beer. collapsed in bed.
sunday got on another plane to ayers rock. the rock is bloody awesome from the air. i still havent been up to it yet though, but will soon.
so finally finished travelling and collapsed. slept. woke up at stupid oclock. this pattern continued till yesterday when i made the informed desicion to go and get pissed and play pool, which i did, and i was unbeaten (well, except once, but that was my partners fault.....) all night on the table, even though i couldnt see for most of it. i was a god. met lots of cool people.
i may stay here despite problems with sarah and get a bar job, as the money is good ($16 hour, which is more than they pay at home!), accomodation is cheap and it means i have no responsibilities and can get pissed a lot. tending bar with a hangover is no problem, and it'll be a riot
and thats up to date really.
not much else to report.
sorry i havent replied individually to everyone whose emailed me individually, i will get round to it.

well, onwards and upwards.

stay froody
